Happy 10th, Iraq War

“I have been meaning to write to you for some time, and the tenth anniversary of the beginning of the Iraq war provides as good an occasion as any to do so. Distracted by other, more recent eruptions of violence, the country has all but forgotten the war. But I won’t and I expect you can’t, although our reasons for remembering may differ.”

--Andrew Bacevich, letter to Paul Wolfowitz, Harper’s magazine, March 2012

Don’t Do Unto Others As They May Decide to Do Unto You

Guns and Bibles

GUNS AND BIBLES - Ameican Christians like to howl about their persecution, but it's hard to feel their pain. Having control over almost all political posts, have unlimited money and influence, and can demonize and run rough-shod…

My "man" just came home from a business trip in Kurdistan. Because he knows that I am obsessed with ancient history, he took lots of pictures and video of the Erbil citadel, one of the oldest cities in the world. I put together some videos on my youtube channel. Here is my favorite:…

Under Sharia Law....

Under Sharia Law, virgins cannot be executed, so all those rabble-rousing 9 year old girls on death row for crimes against religion in Iran have to be raped first.

No.

Seriously.

When Pseudoscience Threatens Lives.

I believe most (if not all) members of A/N reject the crap that is proclaimed to be science such as creationism, Nostradamus prophesies, Astrology and etc. Most of the beliefs are basically harmless, in that they don’t put the believers in danger (except intellectually). One such pseudoscience is, however, directly affecting the lives of people in Iraq. That bogus science is dowsing. For those not familiar with dowsing it is the claim that using a “Y” shaped stick or metal rods one can detect… Continue

Can Atheists Believe In An Afterlife?

First, lets forget I asked that question because even if someone says I can't - I DON'T CARE BECAUSE I DO. But seriously, is there anybody else out there who doesn't believe in Gods but thinks there could be a different plane of existance.

I've seen a few Ghosts, mostly Family members or fallen pets and other just random people who clung to this world after death I suppose. I've never felt scared or threatend by any of them, well... one time I thought my room shaking a bit odd… Continue

I am an American Indian, and this is funny as Hell

I love our government! The federal system - I pay lots of taxes, have an off-reservation business, and never really minded even though I knew they spent a lot on their little toys - but the shiny buttons and uniforms were nice.

So the old ones like me, we still sit and smoke our pipes in the lodges... and we always approved as the young people sometimes went and got shiny uniforms, and we paid this tax with solemn dignity - as it was only money.
