Speaking with God seems to be quite common among religionists. It would seem that in these conversations the directions for solving world hunger, curing cancer and a host of other diseases might be a topic, instead of new ways to bilk Barnum's favorite group.
With that type of connection, it would seem that God might at least pass along a few hints and tips about parting waters or stopping the sun so we could have daylight longer and work 24 hours to catch up on the bills. Of course,… Continue
Religion easily has the best bullshit story of all time. Think about it. Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man…living in the sky. He watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn’t want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer, and burn, and scream,… Continue
Recently, I've found that my patience and manners when dealing with religionists to be nearly absent; in fact, I've been accused of being excessively curt and even belligerent. After reviewing my behavior I found that my critics were right and I must add, quite lenient as I reviewed several recordings where I was not only truculent and abrasive, but downright rude. At first I attributed my behavior to aging, but that was not the reason as I heard the exasperation and tiredness in my voice.… Continue
This is just a rant. But it was brought into the front of my mind by something I saw recently. It was "Letters to Santa" at the post office, and they were reading letters of some of those in need. It was heart wrenching, and one story in particular stuck in my mind. It was a man, former military, unemployed, and struggling to feed his kids. He talked about how he was scrapping for any small job he could take to make a little money, and then he thanked God for keeping his children…
GUNS AND BIBLES - Ameican Christians like to howl about their persecution, but it's hard to feel their pain. Having control over almost all political posts, have unlimited money and influence, and can demonize and run rough-shod…
To this statement, [Assurance of Salvation] I can already hear the devout and the faithful saying that I must not have been truly saved or filled with the spirit. First, one cannot say that according their own belief system. They cannot know my sincerity and willingness to know more of God. Also, I was one of the most devout and on fire believers that one would come across. But it will be said, never the less. One of the main reasons that I went through the process of covering…
Somewhere between my curious nature and my desire to interact with my environment, I looked critically at the world. So as a child, when my family went to church, I really had no idea what it was about. I liked the children sermons given at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. It was fun to go in front of the sanctuary and sit with the other kids beside the pastor, since he seemed to be the reason everyone was there.…
The purpose of this book is to examine and understand the purpose of religion in the view of the Theory of Evolution and Natural Selection. It is hoped that you and I will work to explore some of the ideas of God, Religion, and…
I heard about this place being planned when I was coming back home from Skepticon III In Springfield, MO a few weeks ago and just got around to finding the link. I am not sure what stages they are at but it is clear on the radio that they are moving ahead with this perversion of science.
The fourth largest group of adherents are the Hindu. Most of these adherents are from the India and Asian subcontinent. I have a visited a lot of hotels around the country and it seems like most of the Indian Hindu run these hotels. Oddly enough they all seem to have the last name “Patel”. I am not sure what it is about their religion or culture that attracts them to the hotel business but they do, indeed, seem to have an attraction for it.
After the Hindu, the rest of the World's… Continue

This section is not the review of how so many sports heroes choose to solicit God's favor on their athletic endeavors but how who or what sports you choose to support has much to do with the same processes that one will select their religion. There has been many books and articles about that phenomenon. What I am referring to is the phenomenon of how who and what sport…
I must add here the crimes of Muslim men that are being committed against innocent women just because the men think everyone should think the way they do. Though Muslim men make up a small part of most communities in Europe they make up a large part of the men convicted of rape and sexual assault. The men do not feel guilt since they blame the non-Muslim for not…
This is an episode of "Lights Out" starring Boris Karloff. It's another in my collection of medical procedures that could be seen as almost routine, but in the 30's and 40's, they brought about Hell-anxieties.
