A two parter coming up; from back in 1989, this is an interview by Christian televangelist Bob Larson with Zeena LaVey and Nikolas Schreck, on the moral values of the Satanism espoused by Zeena's father, Anton LaVey.

What do you blog about when you don’t feel like blogging and don’t have anything to say? The Bible! Nothing like a bit of Bible study to get you going right? Right.
I thought that today, I’d go back to the beginning. You know, this bit:
1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
I think even some Christians might recognize that line. It’s the first line of the Bible (the King James version anyway…). And I know… Continue

If an atheist rewrote the Bible in the 21st century, what would it look like?
Probably a lot like, The Last Testament of God: A Memoir by God / with David Javerbaum. Lol.
Here it is, folks. God Telleth All. Finally!
Here are the answers to your questions about the Bible and why Christians, particularly… Continue

First, a rave: I am most grateful for Atheist Nexus. Since effectively rebirthing myself as an atheist (decades ago, I was an agnostic), I've had no place to voice opinions, reactions or thoughts, where others might share them and perhaps further stretch my brain with their reflections. Thank you, A/N.
Now, a rant: There is little if anything more sacred to me, in all the history and legacy of the United States of America, than the Constitution and its Bill of Rights. The most… Continue

Disclaimer: I'm a former Christian who is now an atheist. I have nothing against most theists and respect their beliefs - up to the point where they step on mine. However, even in my Christian days I would've been appalled by the hubris of this plan.
I'm overjoyed so many religious people are so protective of my soul that they insist upon preaching to me at every… Continue

"In a world that is really upside down, the true is a moment of the false."- Guy Debord, Society of the Spectacle
What is an interesting quandary amid Christians is the heaven factor. It appears everyone wants to go; however, no one's in a rush to get there; a spark of revelation; could be.… Continue

Christian Terrorism and Islamophobia
At certain points near the extremity of human evil it becomes difficult, and perhaps pointless, to make ethical distinctions. However, I cannot shake the feeling that detonating a large bomb in the center of a peaceful city with the intent of killing vast numbers of innocent people was the lesser of Anders Behring Breivik’s transgressions last week. It seems to me that it required greater malice, and even less…

Focus on the Family is teaming up with TVGuardian to provide clean entertainment choices for families through the TVGuardian filter, a device that eliminates objectionable language from television shows.
Penned as a “foul language filter” for HDTV’s, the device seeks to protect children not only from all foul language, but also from offensive religious slurs, sexual references, and…

Atlanta Christian Apologetics Examiner Terrence Albritton has penned an exhortation to good Christians to consider religious education "an order," not "a luxury." This is not an uncommon belief, especially among evangelicals and the far right. It is also a major point of contention for many non-believers, who claim that (1) religious "education" is really a euphemism for indoctrination and scare tactics, and (2) Christian education doesn't achieve measurably better societal or individual… Continue

hell is a place of suffering and punishment for those who do wrong, even tho as long as you are saved nothing u can do can get you in hell.
Someone who rapes and murders people every night for 20 years straight before getting caught and and put in prison for 20 years. he gets out after serving his time, but within 3 years he goes right back in for killing 10 people. Then this time he is given the death sentence will go to hell right? he will pay for his crime for what he did and will be… Continue

I always wonder how many Christians there would be if Christianity was frowned upon. In the Easter services there are passages of Christ proclaiming his faith even tho others spit on him, beat him, despise him, and even kill him. How many Christians would there be if they were treated like homosexuals in the 50's; or black folks in the deep south under jim crow? (Someone please tell me how to punctuate the previous sentence.)
What do you think and do you know anyone who… Continue
