Reminder: 9/11 was about RELIGION

“Infidel, n.  In New   York, one who does not believe in the Christian religion.  In Constantinople, one who does.”

--Ambrose Bierce

“If you believe in Judgment Day, I have to seriously question your judgment.”

--Bill Maher

Three Things I (Think I) Know About 9/11

Of the many, many things there are to know about 9/11, here are three that I hang on to.  Other suggestions are welcome.  What is not fact about 9/11 is voluminous: the Jews did it, the government did it, they hate our freedoms, etc., etc.  But here are three (proposed) facts:

(1) The horror could have been prevented.  Every indication is that the government knew about Muslim men being trained to fly planes.  It is common knowledge…

Why 9/11 brings out the worst in my family

A little background: brother is a reverend, rapper for Jesus ( i swear) mother Facebook page might as well include the entire new testament.

My whole family us aware I am an atheist. Anytime we speak religion, I'm usually met with condescension. Pretty funny most of the time. Today though, just got under my skin.

Brothers Facebook post:

Regardless of What u believe or think happened on this day 10 years…

Why I Can't Support American Atheists

As much as I like Dave Silverman, more and more he rubs me the wrong way, and it seems like most of the atheists who do the most rubbing me of the wrong way are affiliated with American Atheists. It seems like they're trying to undo all the work me and many others are trying to do by framing atheism as it's own religion. Whenever I see a Madalyn Murray O'Hair, Michael Newdow, or even Dave Silverman quote, most of the time it makes me facepalm, because most of the time they're reflecting some… Continue

This is America!

I don't know the ngenral opinion on the ground zero "mosque" here because I haven't been as active as I should be but I know at least 1 (thunderfoo at youtube) atheist has used the argument.

This is not Saudi Arabia this is America! The A in USA doesn't mean Arabia, it means America!

What am I talking about? Among the pathetic arguments against the "mosque" (its a cultural center you ignoramuses) the bigoted idiots spout out is "they don't allow churches in… Continue

The Atheist Life is a Lonely One -or- 9/11 Sucks Big Time

I knew today would be hard. The anniversary of 9/11 always sort of hangs like a dark cloud over my head, although this year seemed to be a little harder than most. Since my deconversion, my utter anger at the stupidity and violence committed in the name of religion is stronger. When I was a Christian, I saw the 9/11 attacks as a holy war and I was convinced I would eventually become a martyr for my side, and now although I still see it as a type of religiously-condoned war act, I can't help but… Continue

Eight years later

from Not My God

Tomorrow is the eighth anniversary of the worst terrorist attack in history. For many, the events of September Eleventh strengthened their belief in god– for some, in an angry, vengeful god, and for others, a kind, loving god. Others, still, wouldn’t retain their faith in the aftermath of the tragedy. Some of you may be among them.

It is probable that Richard Dawkins wrote the God Delusion and… Continue
