Hey folks, hope everyone's doing well. Happy Holidays to everyone!! =)
It's been awhile since RJ Evans and the gang at the ShockNet Radio show American Heathen's been on the air; they adjourned for the season back in mid-August to retool the show and to take a well-deserved extended break.
As has already been mentioned here, American Heathen will return on a new day - Saturdays - beginning at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT Jan. 28. There's going to be all sorts of new features…Continue
For those of you looking for a way to help others, check out Kiva at www.kiva.org. Kiva is an organization that provides microloans to entrepreneurs to help start businesses to support themselves and their families or communities. Once the business is up and running, the borrower pays back the loan, and that money can then be loaned out to another person.
We athiests are often put down by the religious as being cold and uncaring. Guess what…Continue

Okay, gaiz .... my real name is actually Sarah. It was fun to have a secret identity for a while ('Tai Bee', for those who didn't know), but I'm over it now. 'Tai Bee' had a cute story behind it, though. My baby brother (who is now a 20-year-old non-baby and Nexus member, as of recently *woot woot*) could not pronounce the nickname given to me by my father, 'Sarah Bee'. 'Tai Bee' was his best attempt! (DAWW, so cute!) It stuck with me because, given my unique baby name fetish, I preferred it…Continue
This is another one my comment posts on the CNN Belief section. This was in response to the founder and executive director of the Fixed Point Foundation opinion piece about how those awful Atheists should be careful for what they wish for.
Being an activist atheist and after decades of hearing theists decry we want the destruction of religion and also claim it will be the end of civilization can wear one down. But, someone needs to stand up to these bullies and point out this is not…Continue

The University of California at Berkeley has chosen Google over Microsoft for its campus-wide email and calendar services, and it will tell you why — in great detail.
Google and Microsoft are locked in a battle for the hearts and minds of businesses, government agencies, and schools across the globe, each touting its own suite of business applications as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Sometimes, Google wins, and sometimes Microsoft. But Berkeley’s choice is worth noting…Continue

Franz Josef Degenhardt Is Dead
Many on AN may never have heard of Degenhardt. But for everybody feeling attracted to the leftist and atheistic student subculture of my generation in Germany, he was an admired singer and songwriter. He came from a catholic background, but was certainly not religious, even though I am not sure, if he was an outspoken atheist. In those days, people from the leftist subculture were usually also atheists.
He died some weeks ago, and he is…

Well, that's Christmas. It's a good thing you guys got this last podcast of the season, 'cos I got three freakin' pies to bake today. And I'm a tired monkey, thanks to these kidneys. Hell, I should make a kidney pie. For the record, I'm making a Maple syrup pie, a Salmon Pie and a Tourtière for Réveillon. There will be crab, since we're here in the Pacific Northwest, also smoked shellfish of many kinds.…Continue

Greeting from The Project
In our first episode we discussed geoengineering as a solution to our growing environmental woes. But some believe large scale geoengineering is already underway, possibly for better but almost certainly for worse. No one quite knows the culprit, but their methods are clear: chemtrails! In this edition of Alternatives to thoughts, we discuss this and many other nefarious plots, from mind control to social…Continue
Greeting from The Project
Here we examine the merits (or lack thereof) of cultural relativism. Is everything relative? Does post modernism work? Do Eskimo’s hate babies? You say to-ma-toe, we say to-mat-NO. Sharpen your critical thinking skills and prepare for some super-addition in this edition of Norm’s Conceptual Corner. Check it out at …Continue

In March of 1985 I took the plunge and converted to Christianity.
In March of 2003 I told my family that I was an atheist.
I am fortunate in that my family supported my decision. In fact, they strongly encouraged my decision to get off the “Crazy Train” of Christianity. We were Fundamental Baptists and I think that they had just about had enough of the rules and regulations that governed every detail of our lives.
My departure from religion left a major void in my…Continue
the program was on last night (it was from 2007) and i suspect it will be re-aired from time to time since the death of The Great Leader. it is must see TV.
it documents the visit of an American doctor who is in N. Korea to perform 1000 eye surgeries on the blind over the course of just a few days. however, the purported reason for documenting gets little traction, instead they focus on a visit to one of the patients home, which is where the meat of the story is told. the…Continue

That's a joke. "Hello world!" is usually the first program you write in learning a new computer language. Well, this is my first public avowal of my atheism. It's been a while in coming, but I'm finally at the point that there is no turning back.
So, "hello world"!
