Jerusalem as an International city?
It seems simple, but it is hard to achieve.
We all know of the Religious killing each other over Israel and Jerusalem in particular. The Israelis have their state, the Palestinians want to have their own state. Lines have been drawn in the sand, nations of the world are backing either the Israelis or the Palestinians. Fighting for Jerusalem has caused the city to be split into sections.
However, it seems that the answer is quite clear.
Why doesn't the UN simply make…

A Peace Pilgrimage with No Peace
Interesting article this morning...
25 years ago, Pope John Paul II invited Jews, Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims to a pilgrimage at the Umbrian hilltop town of Assisi, where leaders shared in common prayers for a daylong prayer for peace. On October 27th, Pope Benedict XVI is attempting to repeat this event, however this time, Thursday's event will only feature time for individual prayer and reflection. The estimated 300 participants will be given time to pray silently in…

I pushed myself too hard, and now I am paying for it.
My surgical pain is at the same level that it was a week ago. I'm angry at myself for being weak. What makes me even more angry is that it took me spending time with the boyfriend to realize I shouldn't have to DO everything. But oh does it make me feel inadequate.
I started classes yesterday and it looks like it is going to be really easy.
Also...
Folks, I need you to do me a favor. My best…

Defining Who We Are As People....
Steve Jobs should be applauded not for all the money he accumulated, but for what his iPad is doing to assist our autistic children. I wish that somebody would create a similar product to help our wounded warriors. People take for granted on a daily basis objects that we use in our daily life. If we are truly united under one, each one of us should reach out to a wounded warrior, a person in need, and as the movie said, ‘pay it forward’. That defines who we are as people. Not through…

We Should Applaud Our Soldiers
New Zealand winning the Stanley Cup was important to many around the world. It grabbed all the wonderful headlines and the great news coverage. There was great joy drinking in celebration. On the same day we announced that our troops were coming home from Iraq; There should be joy and celebration. The rugby players go home to jobs and glory... our service men and women come home to hospitals, families, broken homes, and in most cases, no jobs. Maybe we should begin a national registrar…

Additonally....
And why don't we call the vineyard growers and the farmers in Cali and adjoining states that dangle the fruit of money to these immigrants illegal as well, for without their immediate employment, harsh living conditions and slave labor, the impression of this nirvana might not exist.
Thoughts?

MY WORDS AND THOUGHTS
i don't think that there is god.. this is because of several reasons.. i am an indian born in somewhat a middle class family in the state of kerala.. here the religious aspects are considered with great importance and are giving much priority..
the most peculiar feature of the country is that the govt is promoting all the religions with equal importance... and all this are based on ceartain holy books... infact by reading through those books i came across some doubts about…

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film. The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons. He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"! .
No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes. 'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands. Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.
I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).
THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…
