I married an immigrant too. He is English and a skilled carpenter (now a contractor). we got married for love, or at least I thought so at the time. I still think how does any of this hurt another? Straights have been doing it for decades - why can't my gay friends get married and have the same civil rights? They pay taxes, correct?

A day with a good theist friend

I can't seem to stop spewing. I had a lovely day with a co-worker who is a friend, and a christian in a broad sense3, as she is not of any denomination, and I don't think she's actually read the bible (buy-bull) cover to cover, and she also hols some weird ideas about karma and destiny.

More Pagan Musings

I have a dear friend who is a Pagan, much like I was, although she belongs to an organized Orthodox Egyptian Temple. Even in my Witchcraft years, I gave this org the side-eye, because *my* paganism wasn't organized; there were no tithes, no set scripture (my paganism was very Earth-centric, so me and my ilk went by what the land was telling us, whatever that meant - I guess I still use that in gardening).

I love fossils and carbon dating

I love fossils. The mere existance throws a bigs wrench into the whole religion thing. It took me many years to admit it, but facts is facts.

I love carbon dating. Besides the fact that I have not had any other types of dates lately, carbon dating proves we are older than the 'great story' says.

Science is based on gathered and tested knowledge. I find it interesting that those of 'faith' turn to the same science they despise when they are ill or injured. Why wont god heal…

Dealing with death and those you love

In the recent years I have experienced the loss of three family members. I understand that a persons religious beliefs can bring them peace. That is all fine and dandy. For me when someone dies, They are gone. Remembering them in a loving way is the best way to honor them.

Goodby to all that. Hello Goodwill.

Last week I drove by an estate sale sign, and had to stop and check for bargains. My god, that lady collected a lot of stuff. I asked the people at the sale, was this one estate or multiple. They assured me it all belonged to one widow who may have lived in that house for 45 years. Going to get tested for Lupus today or tomorrow.

I had some crippling chest pains last week, I thought I was having a heart attack except my left arm didn't go numb. So I did what any self respecting man does and ignored it. I would rather like to make more atheist friends because it's nice to know you are on the same page, but, I really don't want to spend too much time talking about being one.
