Watching Darkness

It is funny to teach kids to watching darkness, seldom kids like dark colour, their bright eyes

are always chasing bright colours, teachers in kindergardens knows which colours they like

most.My little girl even dare not go to toilet in night if there is no lights in it.

I did not remember I have much memory of dark color in my life, in China, it is not lucky

colour, we try to avoid it everywhere, when we see a bird is dark, people even fly it away ,

it is…

I finally posted my story on Pandy's

I think it's my third day at Pandora's aqaurium, and I've worked up to 10 entries so far. There is a girl on there who is a big nerd like me, so we talk once in a while. I think she's beautiful.

That being said, there is a folder in the forum called "My Story" or something like that. I wrote my story, but to "keep myself sane" I said as much as I could. I don't feel depressed, just very raw. Like if I had an infection and it was JUST getting the help it needs. It hurts like…

Polyamorous and bisexual

It seems the worst thing you can be is a bisexual polyamorous Atheist. People seem shocked when I or my partner tell them we are in an open relationship. My mom tells me that I need to be careful with my reputation. While discussing swingers in my Social Deviance class, I brought up polyamory because I had told my professor about my beliefs in a discussion, and he felt it would be good to discuss it because the textbook didn't discuss it, and students should know diversity; well, the…

Complexity PSA

Not everyone needs or ever will need a sky daddy (or half the corrosive crap corporations try to cram on ya; that's another story); it's that simple. So look out when someone or something tries to make your life more complex than humanly possible. ~?

Sorry Kansas...Signing an abortion ban into law puts you back into the dog house...

The other day I posted a link that demonstrated some hope in the intellectual capacity of Kansas among the dismal, dubious achievements of the Creation Museum where the Kansas university became among the first to demonstrate multicellular lifeforms evolving from single celled ones.

Well today I read…

After God incinerates the Earth, maybe he'll bring back the dinosaurs. They seem to be a lot less aggravating than these pesky humans that work on Sunday, engage in premarital sex, and eat shellfish.

An atheist dream to his country

I've been reading books about atheism and secularism and try to gain information, as well as inspiration to what I find. After reading a few of them, I began listing my dream in my organization, as well as what it has to share in our country:

I wish that the number of atheists increase.

I wish that the youth becomes interested in atheism.

I wish that there are ordinary men who share and inspire others with their atheism.

I wish that society widely accepts… Continue

Theism in a social setting.

Living in the small town area that I reside in and being a part of this still taboo minority can be rough sometimes but have no bearing on my social setting or comfort of the setting.  I have noticed it depends on the people you are around and the atheist vs. theist ratio, you won't hear a lone christian argue with a room full of atheist for very long and (depending on the atheist) vice versa.  But this isn't about argumentative bickering over who has the best idea, or just perhaps it never…

Work and atheism-related dilemma

My fiance and I are both atheists. Recently, he had a discussion at work about religion, and admitted he was an atheist. Most of his coworkers are okay with it, one is teasing him about it (they're friends; it's what they do), but the last one is being an absolute arsehole.

For the last two full days, this kid (he's 19) has been harassing my fiance about his religion. "Why don't you believe in god?", "How do you not believe in god?", "If you dropped a wallet with $5000 in it,…

We Need Atheist Missionaries

We need atheist missionaries. Period.

It would be nice if we all lived in Never-Never Land where TV shows like Glee and Nova do all the work for us. A one-two punch of inclusiveness and scientific reasoning would shed light on all the theist strongholds in the US, and people would wake up and say "Gosh, I have been sooooo wrong supporting Intelligent Design and churches run by homophobes."

We don't live in that world.

Just as the US couldn't…

NYC hardcore punk rock lyrics (and yutube) Sick Of It All: Give Respect

Give respect, get it back

My solid promise to this private pact

To this honored oath I pledged

Never to push you over the edge

Straight edge or not don't matter to me

You can be what you want to be

In your actions give me proof

What's inside, the real truth

But pure is what you're when you're born

Be positive of what you're gonna be

Hard is this life that we're thrown into

Stick it out, like my brothers and me

Extend your hand, call… Continue

I really am a lucky woman.

After I posted on my blog last night, my beau Danny texted me. I bawled my eyes out and explained what was going on. He was compassionate and only recommended that I do one thing:

Go to Pandora's Aqarium. A member on AN suggested I do the same, but I wussed out until today. My hands trembled while I posted my introduction, making me think I wasn't ready just yet. But I pushed through. And I don't feel so lonely right now, just scared.…

Hooray for Kentucky - University replicates multicellular evolution in a Test Tube

Shocking to me, the same state that brought you the "creation museum" is also home of the first experiment that demonstrates multicellular life evolving from single celled organisms in a test tube. I guess truth, like life, tends to find a way even in the harshest environments:…

Vote for yourself in 2012

The presidential election is here and I am going to do the same thing I did before, vote for myself.  I think there would be an extreme case in which I vote for someone else.  Does this sound selfish, I don't mean it to be selfish it just feels right to me.   I do not expect to win nor do I really want the job.  I do it because I know that there will not be a legitamite candidate and I want to continue practicing my voting rights in respect for all of our civil rights.  I can't see voting…
