On the 29th of November last year, one of my favourite comedians, Patrice O'Neal, died of complications from a stroke he suffered about a month earlier. That doesn't sound like a big deal, a favourite comedian, bit it really was. O'Neal was truley a one of a kind. I won't go into exactly why he meant so much to me, there are plenty of R.I.P. blogs, videos, tweets, ect. from people who actually knew him that can speak volumes as to why we truley lost one of the…

I just finished the book, "How to Become a Really Good Pain In The Ass".
I just finished and really enjoyed the book "How to Become a Really Good Pain In The Ass". It brought me back to my college days of hanging out in the student lounge with my philosophy professors. It is a combination of a basic philosophy 101 combined with a good English lesson on how to make an argument in clear and concise language. Ultimately, I felt that this book was preaching to the choir in my case. I could not find much to argue with and have been in agreement with this view point…

Can you tell me what a feeling is?
You can take any feeling, but here I will take the feeling of anger as an example. The next sentence is an everyday simple sentence:
He is angry.
You would be more accurate to say: He looks like I do when I'm angry.
You could say I have a sick feeling in my stomach when I am angry. Or, I have a tension headache when I am angry. Or, I shake like a leaf because of the adrenaline when I am angry. Or, I want to hurt him when I am angry.
Did you…

I will no longer be referring to the GOP as such. Grand? Not. Old? Maybe. Party? Sweater vests. I rest my case.
From now on, I will only be calling them the Grand Theocratic Party, or GTP. Their wars against science and women are well documented. Many Atheists have become so due to their interest in and education on science. The conflicts between the two are also well, if not over, covered.
The past two years have seen a Conservative revival in…

Pissing in the wind...
I've been around the block. Because I have an obsession with knowing things I have learned things I wish I didn't know. Human ignorance and depravity are far deeper than the average person, whose head is stuck firmly in the sand, can even fathom. For every "good thing" there are a thousand opposites. I've learned things I cannot tell any other person for fear it would fuck up their head permanently, as mine has been.
I reject the notion of a creator because of the Hubble Deep…

Pity the Priesthood?
Before you sharpen your pitchforks and light the torches, let me qualify that title with: Not all of them!
Those who are child molesters, or knowingly aid such vile excuses for humans deserve all of the scorn and contempt they get from any thinking human.
That said, I was thinking the other day of how religion is basically a mind virus that has permeated and infected much of humanity for millenia. Then the thought struck me that if that is the case, should we not feel…

Please sign this petition to get PA Sharia judge that allowed attack on atheist disbarred.
went to bed and woke up in Iraq. Judge Mark Martin must be impeached for harming plaintiff Ernest Perce's First Amendment rights. Based on egregious pro-sharia bias, Judge Martin dismissed assault charges against Talaag Elbayomy, citing sharia and noting that in countries across the muslim world, Perce would have been executed for insulting the prophet of Islam.
Petition can be found on this site:…

Where Are You?
In the US, when people mention the word Libertarian, I think of Ayn Rand, …and have to fight a gag response. This to me is usually a neo-liberal/right wing/anarcho-capitalist simplification.
But, this is all relative, the word libertarian (small "L") meant an entirely different thing to my father, who also equated it with a strong sense of socially responsible governance as a means to achieve a greater good. Conservatives like to tout their "fiscally conservative" positions,…
