About Me
Interested in way too many things ... too tired to persue my interests.

"Lack of a historical sense is the original error of all philosophers ..." ~Friedrich Nietzsche, Human, All-Too-Human

I'm an academic at heart and I enjoy discovering history and putting modern situations and understanding in a historical context.

"The liar uses the valid designations, the words, to make the unreal appear real ... He abuses the fixed conventions by arbitrary changes or even reversals of the names." ~Friedrich Nietzsche, On Truth and Lie

I obsess over the misuse of words to make the unreal appear real.

I have made a number of YouTube videos and hope to make many more. I wish I was a kid again so I could start over and become educated in various ways to exploit the Internet as a medium for educating, informing, entertaining and sharing ideas.

http://www.youtube.com/zthustra

I've been at MySpace for a while but haven't gotten into it. I thought I would use MySpace for BLOGs and YouTube for VLOGs. I really enjoy writing and have posted much of my work on my Comcast page. Sadly, I haven't kept up either my Comcast page or MySpace and they are a bit dated. I think I might need to be unemployed for six months so I can be creative again (said toungue-in-cheek).

Other interests include politics where I waffle between libertarianism and a position that I don't know how to describe. Maybe I'll post some on that later.

I used to be very in to exercise and nutrition but now when I stagger from my car to my bedroom at the end of a long day and fall down I'm happy if I land in the bed instead of falling to the floor. Nobody should work so many hours that they have no room in their life to take care of their own health! All I want to do on my time off is hug my air conditioner, stare at the computer screen and peck on the keyboard.

When I'm really depressed, I try to learn something new. Learning is medicine for the mind. The body is stuck with energy drinks and an alternating rotation of potato chips, cheese popcorn and beef sticks (all the food groups-LoL).

Above all things, I love the truth, even when it is ugly. I enjoy gentle correction ... and when that doesn't work, the other kind is ok too.

I might only have time to visit Atheist Nexus on weekends so don't get frustrated if I don't reply for a week or more.

Hi Z. Thank you for responding to my alert on 'The Greatest Scot.' I have to say that i was also seriously considering Hume as well as Maxwell. And i was also annoyed that James Hutton and Charles Lyell were not on the list! And can you believe that Thomas Reid also wasn't nominated? grr! I wish they had gone about this another way - forgetting about all that sports stars - as much as they have made remarkable experiences in their sport, they haven't impacted the world beyond it in any major way and i think, to be awarded with such an honour, one must surely have influenced the world to some degree more? That's just my personal opinion anyway ha ha. I'm trying to get as many people as possible cast a vote on this because i want a real thinker to win it - i don't want Burns to win as much as i really love him - it's about time people took notice of the likes of Adam Smith and David Hume!!
