Please consider joining a group to meet people and talk about anything that's on your mind, Hang With Friends. You might also like Young Atheists, Young Atheist Women, Women Atheists, Female Atheists, and possibly Feminist Atheists.
I also recommend Eco-Logical and Climate Concerns, since the climate is changing so drastically.
After you've searched for topics of interest in "Groups" above and in the "Forums", don't forget to look at recent activity which hides along the right margin of the page all the way at the bottom.

Joseph P said… Welcome. I don't suppose you've got much contact with other atheists down there, huh? This site is great for people who aren't in areas with healthy, active groups.
Here in NC, I think we've really just got the groups in the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) and in Charlotte. The ones in the Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point), Fayetteville, and Wilmington aren't nearly as active.
There are also groups in northeastern and western NC, but since they're centered on very small towns and cover large rural areas, everyone is too scattered to get together regularly.
Well, there was the large gathering at Rock Beyond Belief, a year or so ago, over at Bragg. I don't know if they'll be doing another one of those soon. That was just a response to Fort Bragg sponsoring a Christian event.
