I am a transplant, I have lived here for 21 years and I love my state, I would not live anywhere else, well maybe California, the weather is great (most of the time) the food is excellent, so much to see and do all over the state, so close to…

I'm not a native Texan. I moved there when I was fourteen, though, and have loved it since. I love the friendliness of the people (I've had people offer me rides when I'm walking somewhere and people stop to talk or just wave while…

Definitely. I love the people down here. I love the food and the weather like you said. I just love being in this region. I suppose it's all I've ever really known.

I'm in the Atlanta area as well, but a little worried about raising my non Christian children in Bible Land. I worry about them being ostracized at school by the kids but even more by the teachers and parents. I hide my little Buddah statue…

Well, I love in the worst part of TX, the desert. It's so ugly, flat and treeless, so the only thing it has going for it is the huge skies! The stars are gorgeous and sunsets unparalleled. I also used to live in the prettier, green parts of TX,…

I absolutely love South Carolina... well, maybe not the entire state but there are several aspects that I will never truly be able to get over once I'm out. I love being able to take time out of my day and watch water trickle over the reedy…

About Me
I am a 29 year old single mother of one toddler. I am a sociology major at the University of West Georgia.

I spend a lot of time reading...really anything and I love to write, though whether or not I'm really that good at it remains to be seen.

I have a desperate love affair with the written word and I am genuinely boggled by people who don't read.

Long lists of "who am I" tend to make me feel like I'll scare everyone off.

I have had a wealth of life experiences, the Atheist one not even coming close to being the most defining. I spent the better part of 7 years dancing to the high of as many party drugs as I could forcibly introduce to my system. Five of those seven were spent on meth and while I'll readily admit to being an addict, the cleaning process just really wasn't all that hard on me.

Oh, and I don't have a disease. Please don't insult my intelligence.

I do three things really well, hit a softball, sing and well, the other one is generally reserved for offline conversation.

That's all for now, I suppose.

On gods and love

Romance without god(s) is an interesting thing. The end of it, especially, I think. For a believer, when something ends, there is someone to blame. To be angry with. To “lean” on. To rage at.

My acceptance of my own atheism coincided with a rocky and over-emotional marital relationship that often found me fighting the urge to beg, demand and negotiate my situation with some sentient fairy god-person. Sitting on the cold severe bathroom floor, seven months into the hormonal nightmare… Continue

Thanks for the Warm Welcome

I'm really not sure what I did to annoy several members right off the bat. Except exist.

I have life experiences just like everyone else. They make me who I am. Do I think they are "cool?" Well, no, I don't suppose I've ever been cool. But I'm honest. I had simply hoped for constructive criticism from more experienced writers. You know, help?

People use the internet as an excuse to be two things. Mean and stupid. I will never understand either, but, you know...good job!… Continue

Yeah, I saw you said somewhere you had a prob with someone being a jerk, I can't remember now. I am sorry you had to deal with that but am glad you didn't leave because of it!

And good giggly wiggly a fresh tomato sandwich! Some of the best stuff on Earth! Our family Easter Dinner one year when we were really bad broke living in Kentucky was tomato sandwiches! Now every year my mom always asks if I got my 'Mater Samich' for Easter lol. Gotta love the South!
