INTERNATIONAL RATIONALISTS’ DAY CELEBRATED

Sumitra di,

Great to see another fellow Kolkatan in that group. I was associated with the Juktibadi Samiti indirectly through our local library. Though I am living outside of Kolkata for a while, but really wanted to do something for the Jutibadi movement. Is there any website I can visit

You asked about the Jupiter's moon
But the Jupiter's moon has a reasonable high magnitude(5.2,5.6).I refer to this page

http://www.pacifier.com/~tpope/Jupiter_Page.htm

My telescope can see 13.6 mag.It can see 4 moons of Jupiter(Planning to have some snaps in future. It is now nearer to sun.So I need to wait 6 months to have jupiter at night).
But I think it is pretty hard to see the jupiters moon in naked eye.A person with a very good eyesight can see upto 6.0 mag in favorable and clear condition. It can be achieved rarely. And they are so close that resolution also matters. But ya maybe. Some people must have seen them as people have seen exactly upto 6 magnitude in the Ideal condition long before. But in my place the sky is really bad.
Anyway thanks again.
regards
dhiraj
