About me...

I grew up in the evangelical christian church. I hate capitalizing anything, least of all religious monikers. Actually as a small kid, I hated church. Then I became one of those teens for jesus and loved the lord-y-lord. Sang heartily about the blood in the blood of the blood. Reveled in the torture of my savior and lordy. I taught at a kids camp, led singing and worship sessions, taught sunday school, read the bible cover to cover several times, bible bashed lots of people, picketed abortion clinics, then eventually got into technology and drama. That, combined with calvanism was my exit drug. Well and moving from Vancouver to Halifax, leaving the christian bubble to test and see if the faith could hold its own against the big world. Took about 8 years for me to finally call myself an atheist after all that. It was a long, slow, gradual "evolution" away, not a 1 day or 1 moment conversion. I had a friend who was a scientist, some engineer friends...lots of intellectual friends and now I collect rare books and antiques, love history and culture, and the preservation and perpetuation of knowledge to all.

Personality. I like to use complete, articulated words. I cant stand internet memes like "lol" and "u r really gr8." I do not have a blackberry or cellphone and live, happily married (Actually living in "sin" but that's our business...we're havin' a good time), in paradise: a 6 acre piece of forest in rural nova scotia. I'm on satellite internet, live in a beautiful hand crafted home surrounded by 17th and 18th century antiques as well as the latest techno stuff, love playing video games, am on the internet too much probably, and I write code in Actionscript for a living. Ran for politics once and am all done with that. I have a lot of opinions. I question everything. Love my life, and am trying to get the most out of it I can.

If you think I seem interesting...please friend me. I always am interested in having more atheist friends and I am looking for people to be influenced by and learn from.

In case you're interested here's a book I've co authored...

I take a lot of pot shots at various religions and its a skewering of many cultures in a kind of homage to the great Diogenes.

That was the gist of what I thought was going on there. Interestingly enough, in disagreeing it did seem to require others to validate their reasoning. My bottom line is weather on not the type of argument is useful. Just glossing over it with "he is evil" does not get to the core of the matter or hold others who follow his logic accountable for the harm such ideas cause, especially when we do not see how mainstream they really are. I brought up Scooby Doo and Harry Potter because my Grandmother thinks H.P. is evil and I used to work with a woman who had similar feelings about Scooby Doo. It is the same thought pattern as "This is a true story.. Made a pact with the devil" Attacking that is what is useful.

How do you find it working for a Charlotte company? Can you understand people? :D I had a hard time with the accents when I first moved down, but I claim no accent anymore since I lost my Canadian one after moving to Fla. They hate Canadians in Fla :D Anyway, nice to see some countrymen here! :)
