I think the world would be a much better place if the majority of its citizens would realise that religion is a dirty, filthy, evil, immoral and dangerous habit. In order to encourage people who…Continue

How many atheists have formally defected from the Church?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Dennis Smith Mar 6, 2011. 27 Replies

I have been an atheist for may years now. However, it never occurred to me to actually formally cut my ties with the Catholic Church by making a formal declaration of defection. And I wouldn't have…Continue

Is homosexuality wrong? I don't mean wrong in a silly Judeo-Christian-Islamic religious moral sense but whether it wrong in some other objective way? If we accept J.S.Mill's "Harm Principle" for…Continue

The immigration to Australia rules are very tough especially under the skilled category, and takes long time, How do you think If I come as a tourist, then express my situation in the immigration office and seek refuge?

Dear robbrownsyd
Greetings

Thanks for your sympathy and help for me. Actually, if you have any people or acquaintances in Switzerland to tell any of them to send me an invitation letter to visit Switzerland, upon my arrival there as a visitor or a tourist, I will immediately seek for a permanent stay or asylum for humanitarian or social or religious reasons. At the same time I will express my situation. If any of these people whom you know there, can help me there at the Swiss immigration it will be stronger. Or if it is possible by you or any of your friends or acquaintances in Australia to send me an invitation letter to Australia as a visitor. Upon my arrival in Australia I will seek for a permanent stay or asylum for social, or humanitarian, or religious affairs, if you can also help me or any of your people and acquaintances in the immigration office, it will be stronger. At the same time, I will express my situation clearly and in detail. I can't come under skilled class, as I am not a skilled worker. I just work in the field of teaching (academic work), that’s my job. I don't think it will work in Australia as a skilled job. Waiting to hear from you dear.

This quote from you're About Me is perfect and a precise expression of how I feel on the subject as well! "Worst of all, I find it sickening watching otherwise self-respecting gay people whinging to be let into the church or even starting their own churches. Even more nauseating are the so called "cured" homosexuals. Why can't they see that the whole religious paradigm is fucked. Religions are about divisiveness and exclusivity. Who needs it?"
Brilliant! Cheers for that.

Hi, and welcome to this friendly meeting place
where we recognise that religion is a superstition and fraud with imaginary gods used to control people, and that it is tragic and inexcusable that women and minority groups have been oppressed these last 2000 years.
