Reggie Loggins replied to oneman's discussion Meeting? in the group Black Skeptics Group
"This is an old post, so I hope you've found a group. There is indeed a great group for black skeptics in LA. If you haven't yet hooked up with them, let me know. I'd be glad to connect you to them."

Meeting?

I feel alone out here in LA. Are there meetings? Anything? I have to say I am saddened that there are just 10 members. Can we meet? So tired of being silent.

About Me
I have always been curious about religious teachings. I think the reason is that I have an intellectually curious nature, and when I come accross ideas that are difficult to understand or seem contradictory yet are accepted ... it irritates me.

I like to KNOW things. Knowing things that are also TRUE. Knowing and believing things that are false makes you a fool. In the sense of "SOMEONE JUST SCAMMED YOU AND YOU WERE STUPID OR SCARED ENOUGH TO BE A SUCKER" type of fool. I won't always be able to help being foolish sometimes, but it should at least be a goal to avoid it, right?

I'm a computer guy currently working at one of the major record labels in Los Angeles. I grew up in Massachusetts, then later moved to Washington DC where I lived for most of the 90s. Taught some intro to computer classes at Howard U for awhile.

I look forward to sharing thoughts with people here. Beautiful inquisitive minds are too rare.

Hello Oneman, and welcome to this friendly meeting place with freethinkers who recognise that religion is a huge deception aimed at controlling vulnerable superstitious people, including defenceless children; and
how tragic and inexcusable it is that women and minorities have been oppressed these last two thousand years and even longer.

Terry Meaden
founder of the busy group "ORIGINS: Universe, Life, Earth, Humans, Religion, Evolution, Darwin..." with its 290 discussion topics.
We invite you to join us and 1700 others.
