"sorry about the confusion. it's rather like you asking me what a religion is. they're so different and so varied. i responded based on what you likely saw here when someone says 'im a humanist'"

"Why would one want to label oneself as a humanist? Is the humanist association simply a debating club? Where humanist gather and debates philosophy? Tell me more what you consider to be reason?"

"Basically, secular humanism is not a "cure all" philosophy. secular humanists are willing to admit that they are wrong and adjust based on what logically benefits society and individuals and brings peace. Most everyone must pursue morals…"

What is a humanist?

This word humanist is very new to me, as all political and religious designations are totally meaningless in practice as people of different and usually deviant from the original ideology call themselves by the same name in order to overtly get support from others who just takes a person's self labeling as to mean "a person with the same ideas as I have".What is a humanist?Anyone care to explain?See More

Atheist since birth in The people's Kommunistic Monarchy of Sweden

I do not understand Why there is such a grand hullabaloo about being an atheist. Religion has never in my whole life been a part my personality. At times I can get disturbed about the crazies out there in the world that hold extremely unexplainable, contradictory believes but I can always just walk away and not need to deal with another such person for a few years.During the early years of my life in school it was popular amongst the 1st and 2nd graders to ask each other if they believed in…See More
