Logic 101: prostitution & religion

Just amusing myself.............

"Personally, I have no problem with that (prostitution) at all. Zero. Every normal human being has a sex drive, just as everyone needs food, water and sleep. If it's OK for a woman, young or old, to offer to do my nails, give me a massage, clean my house, or cook for me, why the fuck shouldn't she be able to offer her own personal sexual services for $$$?

Look at this ridiculous scenario: Dick and Jane meet…

A visit to my front door

Posted on November 3, 2011 at 6:10pm 2 Comments

Just a few minutes ago, a couple of young boys---probably about 12, 13---rang my doorbell and handed me a 1 page flyer from  the Trinity Baptist Church. The front page has directions to, and info about, the church. The back page tells me (1) I am a sinner (ah,------they don't even know me), (2) God has placed a price on my sin-------DEATH,---Romans 6:23a

I'm minding my own business, in my own home, eating a pizza, and 2 young strangers come to my home, uninvited, and…

It goes to show that one can still be conservative, libertarian or otherwise and still hold no belief in gods.
Thx for the comment too

You should come by the Metroplex Atheist meeting on Wednesday night. We'll be at J. Gilligans on Abram at around 6:30.

Hi from Austin! It's nice to see other Atheists from the great state. I hear what you're saying about the bible belt. That's why I love Austin! It's an island of sanity.

Yes, College Station.  It's not so hard being an out gay atheist here, because we have a high ratio of PhDs per capita.  I've got dozens of atheist friends.

Hope your situation gets better.  Have a great weekend.

Thanks Keith!  Appreciate the welcome.....and the ONLY people I know in my area that are non-theist are the Freethinkers group here in SA....San Antonio and generally anywhere in the bible belt, people get creepy crawleys if you mention anything antireligion or planned parenthood etc.....I find myself biting my tongue on many occasions....I am sure you have found this to be true as well....its just not worth the uproar to try and educate the sunday school crowd....PS:  Very sorry for your recent losses....

Thanks, Keith!  Lawdhammercy, I'm glad to be here!  I can have intelligent, stimulating discussions with people that won't draw a gasp from religious nutbags (like my family).  I tried to find a meetup group close to home, but Arlington is the closest that I've found (Metroplex Atheists).
