I am a 24 year old Student at the Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs and Policy Management (with a specialization in International Relations) at Carleton University. I am an Anti-theist and am tired of having to pretend that while I do not believe in God that I think it is harmless that others do. I would love to find a career path in which I can fight for Secular Reason and/or directly confront unreason in all its forms. I hope to connect with as many like minded individuals as possible. I think we can all agree that we already deal with enough people that do not even remotely share similar views of the world.

State sanctioned murder in the name of religious freedom.

So the Ontario justice system has just sanctioned the murder of a child, explicitly to protect the families religious beliefs and their faith in alternative medicine.  This child's cancer has a 100% fatality rate when not treated with chemo.  The ruling specified that it was not based on what was best for the child, but rather to protect freedom of belief.  People don't seem to be particularly disturbed by this and I just cannot understand why.  Canadians like myself are living in a country…

Our world is plagued with unreason. From left and right wing ideologues to extremist religious organizations, the enlightenment is under siege. As much as I enjoy talking to other like minded individuals about how wrong everyone else is in there fervent belief in unreasonable truth claims, I do not see what good that does in and of itself.
