"Hi all. I'm new here. It's so good to find a group for people who leave SDA behind and become atheists! I left the church in the mid-80s, after giving it 10 valuable years of my life. Looking back, those years seem like a kind of prison…"

I hadn't found your Facebook or your blog before I saw this site. I found this site and this group when I Googled . I was surprised to see the site had been created only a couple days prior (if I didn't know better I would call it divine providence!). I looked at the group info and recognized you from WW. From there I found you blog.

Thanks for your reply to my request for more information regarding how to deal with my SDA friend. You've given me heaps to work with. I always find an insider or ex insider really useful for getting information - to dispel fears and prejudice also and get a better idea of what someone might be thinking about in terms of my world view. I was brought up in an Indian Kult, so I understanding the small religion culture to some extent. But having your from the ground experience in SDA is really helpful. My friend is having some personal troubles and is taking some support from me, so it’s likely that belief might come up in our friendship, and I like to know where I stand. So thanks for sharing your experience and views on the matter. Alice :)
