Lol, that's too funny because my family moved from PEI to Ottawa. So when I go home to see family now it's to Ottawa I go. Hence no visits to PEI in the last 7 years. Well I am glad that you enjoy it down there. Let me know if you find any one to start up a group with:) And it's such a beautiful time of year down there I'm sure you'll get some great photo!
I will RSVP if I think I need to (e.g.more than 6 people in a busy restaurant). But other than that I don't notify the restaurant. One of the illusive things I've been looking for in a restaurant is a separate room or alcove or place where we can eat. Usually with a secular group there is some great discussions going on and in a restaurant it can get kinda noisy. I've also had problems with one or two members becoming so impassioned that they start disturbing neighbouring tables.
I know Summerside has changed a lot. I remember Holman's when it had that old fashion elevator with the grate and the canisters with change and notes in it that would zip around the store on wires...long time ago. How long have you been in Summerside?
Hi David! I'm so excited to be touching base with another Summersider!
Meetup is used a lot down here so I just adopted one meeup group and made two others and people just join and show up. I have 250 people in my main secular group, 65 in my secular bookclub and 18 in my activist group. What I do is if there is an event or social outing that I am attending anyhow I just make it a group event. That way if no one shows up I don't care. For example - my first bookclub not a single person showed up, but I had it at a diner where my friend was joining me regardless and so I had a lovely time and then the next month had six people show. It takes time to build a core group, but keep at it and it will happen :)
Hi David - I see you haven't been active for a while but I thought I'd say hi! I was born and raised in Summerside so it's nice to see someone from home on here.
Thanks, David, for the comment on my interview on Irreligiosophy. Sorry it took so long to respond. I have been bad about checking out the Nexus lately.
Thanks :) Dr Chiasson is my biological father whom I've only met once, furtively. I've been trying to reach my half sisters, but I don't even know their names, and the doctor prefers not to communicate. :(
Thanks for sharing your experiences and scholarship. This is one of the few podcasts I regularly go back to old episodes and listen to again, there is so much info I can't absorb it all on one listening. Please consider using the…
Both. Absolutely.
Last time I went to the beach I totally got all sorts of awesome mutant powers, so I don't know why they think that disproves evolution. And don't even get me started about what happened when I plugged in some meat..
To Lamar and Eli, congrats, good to hear things are looking up. Thanks for starting the podcast up again, its kind of like having a good friend come back from a long absence.
To Brother Richard, do you know if Atheist News will be…
I haven't watched Family Guy much at all, but I thought it was great. The only thing that weirded me out was the Obi-Wan pedophile guy. I understand he's actually a character on the show, which is kind of over the line for me.
