Chase replied to cj the cynic's discussion 'Is there really a difference?'
Nope. I'm taking a Intro to Sociology class, and they specifically state the only real difference is size and acceptance. *applause* Well, of course, there is the negative connotation of it, too. But that is an automatic.

The first legal same sex weddings in Vermont happened on Sept. 1st at the stroke of midnight. I am so happy!

Don't you think that GW acted dumb on purpose? He got everybody's attention with it. His rote repetition got people believing his lies.

Same-sex marriage inevitable in Utah? Really? But then again I was sure California would be the first, but look where that certainty got me. And I never thought anything would come out of Vermont! I mean, there are more cows there than people, they…

What responce you anticipate to such a legislation in your state? It would be a good comparison on the state of relgious emotions in both societies.

Anyway, I wish the absolute best for the Iowan GLBT community. Maybe when the sky doesn't fall in the next few years, and no massive tornadoes and floods destroying DeMoines or Keokuk (watch out down river from N. Dakota!), and no plagues of…

"Whenever we read the obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel and tortuous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness with which more than half the Bible is filled, it would be more consistant that we call it the word of a demon than the word of God. It is a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind; and, for my part, I sincerely detest it, as I detest everything that is cruel."

Vermont Legislature Makes Same-Sex Marriage Legal

MONTPELIER, Vt. — The Vermont Legislature on Tuesday overrode Gov. Jim Douglas’s veto of a bill allowing gay couples to marry, mustering one more vote than needed to preserve the measure.

The step makes Vermont the first state to allow same-sex marriage through legislative action instead of a court ruling. The law goes into effect… Continue

Iowa Supreme Court legalizes gay marriage

DES MOINES, Iowa – Iowa's Supreme Court legalized gay marriage Friday in a unanimous and emphatic decision that makes Iowa the third state — and first in the nation's heartland — to allow same-sex couples to wed.

Iowa joins only Massachusetts and Connecticut in permitting same-sex marriage. For six months last year, California's… Continue

The Times of Harvey Milk

Posted on April 2, 2009 at 7:41pm 2 Comments

The Times of Harvey Milk is one of my favorite documentaries. It details the life of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to be elected to a major US office. Milk was a gay rights activist, a populist politician, and a great person. Even learning about him today, I can tell that he was a kind, generous man with a passion for inspiring his fellow humans. He called himself the "Mayor of Castro Street", and he was without a doubt the first person to give a voice to the many oppressed gays… Continue

Hey there.

You left me a comment in the beginning of March and I never responded, which is incredibly rude of me. Despite it being several months late, thanks for the warm welcome :)
