A very interesting debate. I have been thinking a lot about these things after my trip in the Caribbean and the many discussions I had. I was recently listening to a lecture by Dan Dennet online where he pointed out the contrast between the top down…

No problem Andre! Glad you are now in the nexus. It's a nice band in here, we all get to play off each other. Hopefully one day we'll get the masses from where we come from to listen to our tune.

Yes Dr.Mush,

It is very strange going back ti the Caribbean as an atheist. The places are just steeped in religion and superstition and people don't even realize it. And the kids are who I worry about, once the indoctrination sets in it's almost impossible to reverse things. In years to come, being committed to a religious way of thinking is going to put you at a serious disadvantage in the wider world. We can't give uo in this fight.

I really hope we can get together sometime, still looking at something next year. Perhaps we can also play some music. What do you play? I play sax, keyboards and clarinet also used to do some writing. Maybe we can put together some Caribbean music of reason. Wouldn't that be great?

Greetings Caribatheist,

Feel no way about time of responce. For me, sometimes there are so many distractions out there to deal with, that I do not have time to be prompt with my responce. We are in the same boat together.

As far as St. Kitts my home Island is concerned: I love the land dearly, so to speak. I, like you, think that it's small but beautiful, not unlike most of the other Islands. However, I find that religion has totally taken control of the population on the whole and laid waste to the overall mind set. 95% still see fit to brain wash their kids and continue worshipping their slave master (white man jesus).  If you refuse to follow their out dated 15th century neanderthal cave man mentality, you become totally ostracized by the masses, and made an example of sooner or later.

It all seems like a bad joke to me every time I travel there. Antigua where I grew up, and the majority of the rest of the Islands aren't any better. We have a long way to go before we become liberated from the slave master's mental shackles and chains. Hope we could get together sometime in the future and do something positive to contribute to change...One love.

Together we might be able to expose a lot of the religious crap that permeates the minds of too many Island sheep to the slaughter, especially the youth. Wake up Island folks! It's time to open up our minds and break away from the slave master's strangle hold that's been holding us back for thousands of years.

We must start thinking for ourselves...NOW!! ....Emancipation not capitulation.

Had a read of your blog, good job so far, I'll follow it. I think it's rather therapeutic to do a blog. I started mine just because I was fed up with the religious nonsense I was hearing in the news and decided to fight back in a small way. I soon realized that there are a lot more atheists out there than I expected.
