"Hi LarryL, Many agree that Somalia is currently qualifies as 'stateless', and also a pretty terrible place to be at the moment. Of course the absence of a state is not a sufficient condition for prosperity just as the absence of someone…"

Sorry for the abysmal spelling on my part there. Usually I would attempt to straighten it out a bit in editing. But this part of the site seems not to have that feature.

Dude. Thanks for making Libertarian posts. It is a thanks task here generally. You are very welcome my civility which you had previously thanked me for. As you and I see eye to eye on these issues mostly it is not particularly dificult. Still I find it surprising the level of difficulty that it apparently is for people who donot agree w us on these matters. As atheists I would think we would have some experience dealing with people who have different opinions. Apparently I am wrong, but I would think we would be fairly adept at dealing w this situation.

This is only a theory on my part but I think it is at least possible that rather is a connection between this type of behavior anod the belief that force us acceptable in case@ that donot involve anyone's rights being protected.

If someone thinks it is acceptable to force another person to be "nice or charitable" or whatever (which, I think, requires a complete lack of respect for that personal), then they probably are not in the habit of having respect for people ingenerak, people who they disagree w in particular.

Anyway. I'll be seeing you around the site, I hope.

Theists, Cargo Cults, and Logic

So tired of religious apologists asking me to show evidence for the non-existence of their particular god. I've asked them how they would go about showing evidence for the non-existence of the dragon in Carl Sagan's garage or Russell's celestial teapot. They assert that the analogy is false, but don't explain how. They use words like 'logic' or 'inference' as if they were magic charms without fully understanding what these words mean. It's not unlike superstitious primitives from a cargo cult…See More
