"I think you missed the point that NOTHING taught in school is Truth. If you think you are receiving "facts" that are true, you have stepped from rational thought to religious belief.
Sure it's good to teach kids things…"
"If you look at most things taught in schools it's easy to classify them as a waste of money and time. The purpose of schools are to be baby sitters and while they are at it, they might as well try to teach kids something.
"What kind of pansy ass bitch is so afraid of opposing ideas that they want to ban the teaching of them? If you think atheism is so weak that it cannot stand up to some stupid fundies pushing creationism, YOU are the one showing serious doubts…"
"I gave up on the atheist experience LONG ago. They treat callers like shit and refuse answer when their position is seriously chalanged. If this is what you are holding up high quality, atheism is in worse shape than I ever imagined.
As far as…"
"No, I am a nostic atheist but not the kind you are thinking of. I KNOW that both the theist AND atheist positions are full of shit. Neither provides even the slightest evidence to support their beliefs.
The existance/non-existance of a god question…"
"So once again you still don't provide any evidence. Why do you keep avoiding the issue or trying to convert it into a god existance/non-existance issue? My guess is that you have no evidence and you realize how badly it hurts your position.
"So you have no evidence to support your position yet you demand evidence to support the opposing position. Mighty white of you. If you claim something doesn't exist you are still making a claim. Support it with evidence or you are simply…"
"OK. Let's define a belief as holding any assursion true without evidence. It doesn't matter if your opinion is for or against a belief. Unless you can offer credible evidence to support your position, you hold a belief.
So like most pop-atheists, you completely avoid the issue and try to hide behind a choice of definitions that support your position. You must find your position so weak that you are not even willing to talk about why you think you are…"
"Yes it IS. Consider it this way. How can a anarchist claim they don't have a political position? Just the same, atheism is a religious position. Pretending that not believing something is somehow different than believing something s just a…"
I am interested in why atheist arguments are so ineffective at convincing theists that we are better off without gods and religions that perpetuate many of the problems that exist in the world today. I have always thought that only by understanding the weaknesses of an argument can we form better arguments that are more effective.
