You might also be interested in the Brisbane Atheists Meetup Group which meets at least monthly in the CBD and has a good message board.
I also want to make sure you know about the Rise of Atheism Global Atheist Convention to be held in Melbourne next March. It's going to be huge, with nearly 1500 tickets sold already. Speakers will include: Richard Dawkins, PZ Myers, AC Grayling, Dan Barker, Phillip Adams, Robyn Williams, and former Senator Lyn Allison and Julian and Craig from the Chaser team will be there too.
