Automotives for the Future...The Beginning!!! (Part One AutoBlog)

Posted on December 25, 2009 at 3:08am 0 Comments

I have never written for a blog about automotives, but here I feel as if I don't try I won't ever know where we are on alternatives in automation. So I'm going to jump right in with both barrels revved up with full throttle. My thing is the fascination I've had with auto racing since my childhood and I always heard that girls were not supposed to do this or that but secretly my excitement was to build them fix on them hear them roar!

Always wanting to know what made this car better… Continue

Carl Sagan

This was posted by Gavin Melville Barber, Thanks!

This is what I read to my children. Through reading about these people as child, I have learned the way towards being a free person is to read. It drives home several very important facts. This aspiring piece that shows the depth of Carl Sagan and of his passion for humanity. That of Frederick Bailey, an observant child. Who rose up from slavery to freedom. When you get your turn to rise up from "mental slavery" whom will you take with… Continue

The Real Reasons People Believe in God

Some religious theists think it is appropriate to presume to inform atheists about why they really don't believe in any gods rather than simply listen to atheists in order to learn something. Perhaps atheists should instruct theists why they actually believe in gods. Theists offer all sorts of reasons for why they believe in a god but the only respectable reason is one which, if proven false, would at the very least cause them to seriously… Continue

Obrigado. :)

It's really amazing, when people we don't even know in the real life, are gentle with us, posting a happy birthday comment, doing more than our real life "friends", if you know what I mean...

By the way, do you speak portuguese?

Once again, thank you. :)

Hugs

Animus,
Happy that you joined "Conversations in Race, Ethnicity, and Culture". Welcome!
Most of the time, only a few people 'pipe up'. It's great when more people join in the discussion. Hope you'll do the same.
Best wishes,
Daniel

Thank you Animus. I'm sure they'll like it too. Some of the more advanced participants in that forum really have some good point to make all the time and I'm sure your blog post will be a nice topic for conversation.

Loved your Carl Sagan Essay.
Off topic, and purely in the interest of being helpful, the way to get separate words into a tag is to use quotes - like "Frederick Douglass" or "Carl Sagan". That way they dont get tagged as Frederick, Douglass, Carl, Sagan.
Have a nice day. I don't know about Minneapolis, but VAncouver WA is hot and miserable this week!

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:28pm 2 Comments

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…

My first funeral as an atheist

Posted by Two Cult Survivor on May 21, 2013 at 11:30am 0 Comments

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.

I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).

THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…
