I totally agree with you that this being a Christian Nation is an absolutely absurd idea, but I’m continually running into people who believe this. We aren’t properly educating our population anymore. One of the first things I do when I get a new kid in my shop is to ask them if they had read the Constitution, you know that document you have just sworn to support and defend. Most of them say that they had learned it in school, but really didn’t remember much about it. So part of their initial training is going over the bill of rights, you’d be surprised that they know the words, but never thought about the meanings. You’re doing a great thing teaching your son to be a rational thinker, and I’ll do what I can with my small circle of influence, but you got to admit it feels like we are going up a hill with no top insight.

Aloha kakou (may there be friendship between us, greetings), thanks for adding me to your friends list. I know exactly what you’re talking about. It’s great to have a place like this where we can come and talk to people with similar opinions. Even though Hawaii is socially divers, we are still part of the United States, and we have a lot of people here who aren’t really religious, but believe and except that we are a Christian nation. So sad…

Yeah, i guess no matter how liberal it's still the minority around here/there.....keep chins up and stay focused!
