Personal military religion conundrum

 So I am in the army and as many of you well know, even though religion is a tabboo subject it is still brought up. I am currently reading God Is Not Great by Christopher Hitchens and while I was reading it I had it taken from my hand by a fellow soldier who had some nasty comments to say about it.
