Recently transferred to an arts school (in MS). People are refreshingly open here. I showed a poem from an atheistic perspective on religion to someone, and they actually said they liked it :B TWILIGHT ZONE, METHINKS?
Yeah....I'd say so. BTW, what is your Mom's new vocation? I graduated with my BA 10 years after I got out of high school. Went back to school when I was 38 and earned my ADN. Graduated when I was 42. Tell your Mom "You go Girl"!!…
Ah will, thank you for adding me! Sorry, I didn't see the notification. Picayune's over in the delta, innit? I'm betting you've got it worse off than a lot of us, yeah?
If you want to chat on AIM or Yahoo IM, my username is nintfjr. I like to keep in touch with other Mississippi atheists, because I know from personal experience it can be a really difficult experience by yourself.
We are somewhat rare and certainly endangered by our refusal to accept superstition. However, I think the increasing profile of atheists elsewhere will help us out here.
It's never too late to learn something new. I applaud her courage. My eldest granddaughter is autistic, very high functioning, but she still has her moments. I have a great deal of admiration for people who can teach kids like her. I know very well that teaching is not my place in line. I know she will do well. Best to both of you!
