Hello, I'm an aspiring writer and musician in New Orleans. I'm enthusiastic about politics, music, literature, and philosophy which was my major at the University of New Orleans. Atheism is still socially unacceptable here, but I'm lucky enough to have some close atheist friends with whom I spend a good deal of time.

Hey, it was nice to hear back from you. I miss home and UNO so much. Just a few of the faculty I know well:
Les White is one of my dearest friends, as are Kim MacDonald and Dave Rutledge, Nancy Dixon and Bill Lavender, Susan Krantz, Kris Lackey, Kevin Marti, John Cooke, and Stephany Lyman. I haven't spoken to a few of them in awhile, but they're always in the pipeline. You might enjoy the Parkview Tavern on Carrollton (if you imbibe at all) - some of the English dept. meet there on Friday evenings. Anyway, good luck with the MFA. I started an English masters program (literature), but wound up getting it in painting and photography. Talk to you later. PS - if you meet up with those guys, tell them Suz, Erik, and Vito say hey.
Hey Wesley! I know that Philosophy was your major, but did you spend any time in the English or Art depts.? My major was Fine Arts, but I spent a good deal of time there and number several of the English dept. as close friends. Just curious - it's so nice to talk to someone from home.
