Travis Hedglin replied to matthew greenberg's discussion on "God is not dead"
"With the way Christians flock to anything involving jesus torture porn, or reaffirming their persecution complex, it really isn't any wonder that unintuitive greedy assholes capitalize on it left and right. I learned long ago that I don't…"

Travis Hedglin replied to Dr. Allan H. Clark's discussion The Hobby Lobby Case
"You're right, it's not good news for atheists, but few things ever are. We are a minority of minorities, elected officials won't care about us until we have more political juju."

Travis Hedglin replied to Anthony Jordan's discussion End Of Windows XP Support
"I don't think it will run Seven, almost anything will run Ubuntu, but it isn't the most user friendly OS.  Vista will run, you should be able to find directions for downloading, burning, and installing it online."

Travis Hedglin replied to Luara's discussion Wrongful convictions and the death penalty
"The system is broken. Prosecutors are judged based on how many convictions they get, not how many of those convicted are actually guilty. Procedure is more important than actual evidence, and the jury is often swayed by something as simple as how…"

Travis Hedglin replied to James M. Martin's discussion GOP, Tea Potty Evangelicals, and Catholics F*****g With Our Schools, Taking Tax Money From Middle Class And Giving it to Churches

Travis Hedglin replied to Kathleen Z.'s discussion What is there about the word "atheist" that makes normally sane people act crazy?
"Social conditioning. For years, every disaster or gigantic bungle was blamed on minorities, immigrants, and atheists. Now that conservatives are having to ease up on minorities and immigrants, we are the goto scapegoat for everything wrong in the…"

Travis Hedglin replied to Anthony Jordan's discussion End Of Windows XP Support
"I think you are a little too worried. XP will lose support, but all serious security flaws have already been summarily addressed or ignored anyway. However, if you are that concerned about it, it is possible to pirate windows seven(if your computer…"

Travis Hedglin commented on Tom Pandelaere's blog post Tolerance is not respect.

Yeah man, if declared atheist here in Brazil is the same thing as living in "hell" (laughs).

Welcome, Travis! Glad you could join us. :D

Please consider joining a group to meet people and talk about anything that's on your mind, Hang With Friends. You might also like Loners and Introverts.

I also recommend Eco-Logical and Climate Concerns, since the climate is changing so drastically. Texas is especially vulnerable.

After you've searched for topics of interest in "Groups" above and in the "Forums", don't forget to look at recent activity which hides along the right margin of the page all the way at the bottom.

On a personal note, I've developed an animated gif technique, sort of “pull quote marries slideshow”. Samples are scattered across various groups, but you can find them easily by going to my twitter account. Each tweet has a link (after the description and before the hashtags) to a visually rich example here at Atheist Nexus. If you like them, please follow me

Hi Travis
Welcome to this world of rationality and peace, where pure common sense is enough to lead to the open freethinking wisdom common to non-believers like you and us.
We invite you to join the busy group "ORIGINS: Universe, Astronomy, Life, Earth, Humans, Religion, Gods, Atheism, Evolution, Darwin..." with 700 discussion topics and 3600+ members.
