The Houston Church of Freethought is an extension of the concept developed in Dallas by the North Texas Church of Freethought. The Church of Freethought was conceived as an alternative to the conventional faith-based religious organizations.
We are a rational approach to religion, offering atheists, agnostics, humanists, and freethinkers all the social, emotional and inspirational benefits of traditional faith-based churches, but without appealing to tradition or superstition.
Foundation Beyond Belief is a charitable and educational foundation created to focus, encourage and demonstrate humanistic generosity and to support nontheistic parent education.

Peg K said… - Tina, thanks for the comments on my picture page. I was able to meet Julia Sweeney (she was wonderful), Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens at AAI last year. I also sat about twenty feet away from Ayaan Hirsi Ali while she spoke, with the bomb sniffing dog and her huge bodyguard standing right next to me. For me it was like being at a rock concert. I was star struck.
Are your pics are from Cabo San Lucas? I'm going there this winter and the swimming with the dolphins looks fantastic. If you get back to the Wichita area send me an e-mail. We could get together. -Peg
