I understand your situation. When I moved here in 1997, I was in culture shock. As for your 15yr old tell her to hang in there. There are several transplants from up North that do not attend church. My honest opinion is that church has nothing to do with much more than a social circle. I am your typical yankee, I say what I have to say and if people don't like it, I really don't care. I was asked several times when I first moved here what church I belonged to and they recommended that if I wanted to me a good man to attend church. LOL what a joke. I did not attend church here because most churches want you to tythe a percentage of your income to the church. Not all families are into that type of lifestyle...they do not need to attend church to have a life. Some kids hang out at indoor skate parks were you can ride your bike, roller blade or skateboard. The malls in the south a major hang outs, but of course you need to be careful of who your kids are hanging with there.
