Tiffany has not received any gifts yet
Hi, Tiffany,
I live in Metairie too. I haven't been very active on Atheist Nexus, but I want to do so.
I work four jobs to support myself my daughter and her baby: I am a licensed psychologist specializing in older adults, and I work weekends at PetSmart as a Pet Training Instructor. It makes it hard to attend any NOSHA functions, but I am eager to meet like-minded people.
Like you, I am not a native local: I grew up in San Diego, and I have been here only about 20 years. The overt religiosity of the South never fails to amaze and dismay me.
I've been widowed for three years. My adopted daughter dropped out of school and recently gave birth to an irresistible baby boy. Since then she found her first job, but quit after the third day. She seems dead-set on becoming a Jerry Springer guest. I dread the day when she can vote.
Where does your interest in German cultural studies come from? It was after I had studied German and its inexplicable need for 12 ways of saying "the," that I learned that I am biologically half-German. As good as I am with foreign languages, I don't think it will ever be enough to make that many declensions manageable.
I'd love to hear your opinion of local godless resources. I have enrolled in the CSICON coming at Halloween. Have you attended any skeptic conventions? Any recommendations/warnings?
