there are a number of issues here. Let's face it welfare is really screwed up. It would be morally reprehensible to deny someone help. On the other hand where do you draw the line. As for drug abuse there are some very inexpensive screening…

And since Ms....wait I'm going to say Miss....Diaz didn't vote in the first place that must mean: SHE thinks rape should be LEGAL.....what an idiotic stream of words.  (Maybe she was super, like, nervous or something.... )

Small minds talk about things; mediocre minds talk about people; great minds talk about ideas. (I forgot who said it, and I'm too lazy to look it up.)

I had no idea Cameron Diaz did that and it's disappointing to hear this sort of stuff is running rampant: Celebrity-style politics.  Getting the "youth vote" is important (in fact, vital) but not this way...dumbing down the…

I like the incredulous look I get when people are discussing someones chances of getting elected and I insert  my opinion based on the way they look. Like " That guy doesn't have a chance". They say why and I'll say. "…

George W. Bush interview

Does anybody believe the National Geographic interview is anything but another dog and pony show? This clown has had 10 years to prepare for this. Over the years more and more and more stupidity, greed and hypocrisy has issued from this man's lips. His obfuscations, hypocrisy and outright lies have so divided this country that he has accomplished more than the so-called terrorists could ever hoped to accomplish on their own. With the help of Carl Rove, Dick Cheney, faux news and the ignorance…See More

Even our politics is saturated with celebrity attitude. Superstars like Palin, Perry, Bachmann, most of the people who support them don't know what they have done or what they plan to do or how - just that they are political & religious…

Heaven and Hell versus the Universe

Posted on March 31, 2011 at 12:53am 2 Comments

Today at work I was doing a little wool gathering and thinking about death and dying and heaven and hell. I was also contemplating what happens when we die. As an atheist and not a believer in heaven and hell I considered a marvel of what happens when we die. When we are born we are collection of atoms and molecules drawn from each corner of the universe and we coalesce into this marvelous, unique, one-of-a-kind. There is not another one like us. Each one of us as varied as snowflakes. When we… Continue

I have been a Nexus member for about 2 months now and somewhat bewildered by all that is available here. I have just begin to really navigate around this site. To those who welcomed me forgive my tardiness at saying thank you. I am still trying to get a handle on things like Friend invites, apps and such. I do like the Forums. As far as blogs, I'm not sure what's appropriate here. I don't want to be a ranter or whiner. Thanks for a great site. Catch you later.

Hello!

I cannot expressed my joy at finding a site of humans. All kidding aside, it is refreshing to view posts and videos of like minded people. My path to this point is rather round about. I was brought up going to Sunday mass at the local Catholic church, suffering through the mindless drivel foisted upon me at communion and confirmation classes. My first foray into rebellion was when I was in high school and told the priest that the Christian Utopia was a pipe dream and that communion… Continue
