"Interesting.  I think secular humanism may help to explain many things that got out of hand in the New Testament. 1. Jesus didn't know his real father, or he knew him and was disapointed, hence the myth of the virgin birth.  Doubts…"

The Atheist New Testament

Good day people, I'm a Bachelor of Theology from the University of Helsinki. I'm currently working on my Master's Thesis in the field of Cognitive Science of Religion, which searches natural cognitive mechanisms that have promoted the spread and success of cross-culturally similar religious ideas. My focus is on leader representations, and I'm currently doing a study on the responses of an Indian politician's, Narendra Modi's, followers. But for this thread I would like to have your comments…See More

BTW: I studied Theology for a year and soon learned that it is actually anti-scientific, since Theology relies on confirmation bias, in that "If the conclusion of any study does not Confirm the Theological Scripture Base, the conclusion is Incorrect, never the Scripture."  This is where Theology differs from philosophy, philosophy is like science, without inherent bias, where Theology must always consider it's basis (Scripture) as inerrant, since if the Scripture is shown to contain errors, the Theology is no longer valid and ceases to exist.

Though I question why anybody who is a non-theist would bother with Theology (the study of the mind of God).  Philosophy would be a more logical choice since Theology is archaic and based on irrational, centuries old dogma, not rational scientific analysis in any form.   If a person believes in Theology, they cannot be a non-theist.  Because a belief in Theological concepts ( from the mind of God) then they would have to believe in that God.
