qnr replied to Marc Draco's discussion The end of free will? in the group ORIGINS: UNIVERSE, LIFE, HUMANKIND, AND DARWIN
"I don't see that as a lack of free will.  Perhaps a constraint on where I can go with my free will, but still providing me hundreds of thousands of options as to what I'm going to do in the next day."

About Me
Nothing interesting to say. My real name is Terry Ross, I've been using 'qnr' and variations online since 1981 - it's a communications operating signal that means: "I am approaching my point of no return."

I've been asked (on other sites) if there is any significance to using a raven as an avatar. Yes, but nothing related to my atheism. My avatar is "Quoth" the raven, the mascot for the Linux distribution I'm a developer for.

Wow...that sucks... getting broken into. I've got a Cannon AE-1 I've had for YEARS. I used it when I was in the Army and in the Army Reserves. I took it with me on two deployments. The last unit I was in had a Nikon but it didn't work so I used mine. I've got a small digital for snaps and the such. What's wild is that I have a camera and video camera on my cell phone. Crazy man.
I've been looking at some digital cameras. Cannon has some as well as others. I was wondering if any were able to use my old lenses from my SLR. One can hope...but I doubt it.
When I got deployed the last time there were talking about use having digital cameras but they never followed through with it. So we stuck with film.
Now of course save for a few things it's all digital.
A Coastie? Wow. My dad is a Merchant Marine Captain.
And by the way, I grew up with Naval Proceedings Magazine. My dad has a lifetime subscription to it. And sextants on the wall.
And yes, I know that you guys are not limited to just the US Coastline, lakes and waterways....
