OK. I am venting. My mother died two weeks ago. She was a “god fearing christian.” Before her death she refused all medical treatment. She wanted to be left alone. She even refused to speak with my brother who is a methodist minister. He is a pip, let me tell you! This probably should not have shocked me as much as it did (especially since I am in Texas). I actually thought my coworkers were playing a joke on me because they know I am an atheist. Sadly, this was no joke. This actually happened.

Thank you for your post. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you but I've been really busy nailing down our months old project of getting atheist billboards up in both Dallas and Fort Worth.
I'm sure I could provide you with some good advice about a campus atheist group but not nearly as comprehensive as my friend Becky Robinson. Becky is on the Board of Directors, the Secretary, I think, of the national Secular Student Alliance. She also started Freethinkers of the University of Texas at Arlington and has contributed to it's growth. She is the person you need to communicate with.
