About Me
I've been an atheist all my life. Always been allowed to think for myself. Our school had a friday morning bible reading, which was just story time for us kids and our parents could opt out of it. (I doubt the teachers even wanted to read it!)

As I got older I just assumed that the world believed the same as me, "well obviously God is a story, just like Santa". It wasn't until I was 15 and I met a boy (It's always a boy!) and he really wanted me to go to church. So sucking up my pride and gritting my teeth I went...

It surprised me, they really had a support network. People around to care about you, for no other reason than you went to church. However my stint at church was very brief. I never believed the teachings to be moral and could see their sermons littered with fallacies. When I questioned the Pastors at the church, I was told that the devil was questioning my faith and that I should go to camp that summer. Well that wasn't the answer that I was looking for, so I asked my friend if he could give me answers. Again he seemed shocked that I could even think of questioning anything about his bible. The next week we had a very liberal visiting Pastor who welcomed everyone into his church (Including those devil gay men) and thought that God made everyone they way they were. "if god has given you a questioning brain, then you deserve answers" Well needless to say I ran straight up to him at the end of his sermon and picked his brain. We came to the conclusion that the church was probably not in anyway my calling and that I should just lead a moral life as I was doing... So I left.

I've come along way from not believing in a God to being a very loud Atheist. I think I have you tube and Pod Casts to thank for that! The more I listen to the bible and Atheists alike. The more I believe that people should stand up and say "Hey I'm an Atheist too, stop being a numpty"
Alot of people I know don't believe, but similary they don't care. They can't see the harm it's doing... The more vocal people are the less people can deny the harm.

Greetings, Tammie! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus since Nov. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, .Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.

Ships will fall off the Earth flat! Of course, if it was really like that, I think we humans would've already overpopulated this planet to the point of shoving each other off the edge for fun. You know, not like we haven't done that already. But "Death by shoved into the cosmos" would be far more prominent.

PFFT. Beck-a? Clever, clever! Or Becca. Works for me!

Or intense discussions about the weather. Or about the world in general. Like whether the Earth is flat or not! That could get pretty heated. Heated discussions make for the best ovens, though.

That's OK Arnab. Much quicker than the second coming of Christ. Wouldn't want to be hanging by the balls waiting for that to happen.
