Please consider joining a group to meet people and talk about anything that's on your mind, Hang With Friends. You might also like Health & Fitness, Fishing and Other Outdoor Stuff, Atheist Teachers, Mathematics, Women Atheists, Female Atheists, and possibly Feminist Atheists.

I also recommend Eco-Logical and Climate Concerns, since the climate is changing so drastically.

After you've searched for topics of interest in "Groups" above and in the "Forums", don't forget to look at recent activity which hides along the right margin of the page all the way at the bottom.

On a personal note, I've developed an animated gif technique, sort of “pull quote marries slideshow”. A belated welcome aboard! =)  Hope all is well with you today...

Hi Susan!  I just noticed that we live in the same town and thought I'd say hello!  Good to know there are "others" here! :) 

Hi again!  So glad you commented back :) 

You asked about our "story", so I thought I'd just give you the link to an interview we did last year with American Atheist.

It gives a good synopsis of what our experience was.  We were LDS/Mormon for many years.  Very active.  Lots of years of having questions popping up, then our individual beliefs just didn't mesh well with the church's, so we finally left.  The scrutiny we put on the church continued on with religion as a whole, and that's how we ended up atheist :)

We enjoy going to concerts and listening to all types of music, Musical Theater and plays, site seeing, dining out, movies, bowling, and lots of other things.  I'm an unpublished writer, and I also enjoy reading. 

I have a 22 yo daughter who lives in NC, and a 20 yo son who lives with us here in Springfield while he works on his degree.  All Atheists now :)
