I LOVE the concept of Yogic flying! First I ever heard of it watching some documentary I thought, "Ooh, cool; we're going to see some graceful, light-as-a-feather type martial arts thing or something." Then came the people hopping about the room on…

Most likely this is Christian on Christian violence as it almost always is. If it is and atheist, I hope they throw the book at the bastard. Burning down people's places of worship is, for many, just as bad as burning down their homes. Probably wor…

They used evidence of atheists versus theists on moral dilemma tests? What, are atheists an independently evolved line of humanity? No, of course not. That's a really weak basis for their argument. The simple support to that argument is that religi…

I made a choice, but we shouldn't suspend reality when doing thought experiments. And either way, I made a choice. Freedom! Freedom! Give me liberty or give me death! Loving Big Brother is not an option.

Three years...so long and so short all at the same time...

I've been with my wife for three years this weekend. I thought I should just take a moment to reflect on how lucky that makes me. Okay, enough mushy emotional stuff, on to more posting of news and science and whatnot!

My wife is awesome

She joined the ranks of the Youtube posters...who knows maybe I'll eventually manage to drag her over here.

A position statement (updated from 25Sep09 to 29Sep09)

1) I am an agnostic atheist. Generally speaking, I find the definition of "god" to change depending on what theist I talk to, so I can therefore not say that all definitions of a god do not exist. I, however, know that Abrahamic religions are false, as they have a definable deity and belief structure which are shown to be false through history and science.

2) I prescribe to… Continue

It isn't about atheists versus theists

I've been pondering this for a couple of weeks now, and I think I've come to a conclusion. The current "cultural conflict" between atheists and the religious has little to anything to do with belief in any gods. It has to do with what the "New Atheists" believe and what the relgious don't believe.

This isn't a battle between theists and atheists. This is a battle between naturalism and supernaturalism. This is a battle between rationalism and irrationalism. This is a battle between skepticism a… Continue

Hi, Stephen!

Just occurred to me - "Touchdowns for Jesus!" Geez, what a phrase! I'm a bit amazed that I haven't seen it before as a rallying cry or some such! [groan!]

Ahh, lucky you.
The frustrating thing about headaches/migraines is that every time i go to the hospital, they just inject me with morphine and send me on my merry way. They say little research has been conducted into the cause and cures of mysterious headaches like mine. It's such a pain in the ass! Especially when i have study to do (but, really.. who's going to study anyway when there's a nice little distraction like this website! :P)

Thanks! I feel a little dirty when you phrase it like that but eh, it's for a good cause. I actually found out about this site as well as the chariots of iron podcast from listening to the atheist news one. I'm totally a step ahead of you in already joining but I haven't been very active yet. Oh how I wish I had known about all this during the summer when i had nothing but free time. I'll be sure to keep checking in and more active in discussions, even if i have to suffer a bit academically..

He was great wasn't he? Sad thing is, as much of a walking cliche as he is, those people very much exist. Every movement, every word out of their mouths is designed to look like the very cliche they're emulating.
