Nothing in Moderation

I am a very political person, and I'm willing to admit that I take my beliefs very seriously. I can be quite self-righteous at times. I don't believe people should be proud to call themselves "moderate" or centrist; those are false terms that mean nothing, considering how they change every decade. You'd might as well say you have "the only logical political belief system" or that you believe in "common sense," which are both opinions, not facts.

Well, I find that the idea of Anarchism is great. However, I think that it is better as a form of state government not federal. I think that limited government is the idea in terms of it being a federal influence. I also think that the constitution…

I have a big problem with PZ Myers; I think he is very abrasive, and has a cult of followers that he uses as a snake-pit to throw people in who don't have exactly the same beliefs as him. He creates an atmosphere of abuse on his blog, and…

Db0 is generally quite tolerant of people with radically different views from him; frankly, I don't know where he finds the patience. If he writes the occasional aggressive blog post, I see nothing wrong with that. He still responds to…

There's some people who can be convinced and there's some who can't. The person that particular post was related to had embraced "Anarcho"-Capitalism and was asking me how Anarchism could function better to provide him with…

Sitakali replied to John Smith's discussion 'Is Capitalism more dangerous than religion today?'
I would personally welcome the idea that I don't have an ounce of individualism. Individualism is a word that was co-opted long ago to mean living in a vacuum; selfishness, self-centeredness, and not caring about how one effects others. In…

Not sure exactly what you mean by "the best we have." Do you have so little imagination? If you lived in a country where everybody murdered their neighbours would you decide it was the "best we have" simply because you…

Perhaps instead of asking what a bunch of random people think, you should go to a forum of climatologists and ask what they think. All over the internet there's the question: "What do you think about climate change?" as if…

Hi everyone, I am a libertarian socialist, which I believe is the best system to tackle the problem TNT666 was talking about below. Here are some good resources on libertarian socialism, or anarcho-socialism:…

Religion and capitalism come from similar mindsets: They both reject the inherent morality or altruism of humans, and they are both based in faith, not evidence. They both depend on vulnerable people to keep the systems going; in fact, they depend…

Greetings, Sitakali! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus for over a year. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, .Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.

Hi Sitakali. I like your profile! So, your a Libertarian Socialist? How is that different from Marxism? I know Chomsky is an Anarchist and a Libertarian Socialist. Do Anarchists believe that there should be no police force?

About Me
I am a passionate advocate of social and environmental justice, and furry things. I am a libertarian socialist (a true anarchist) and believe that once communities take responsibility for their people, the world will be a better place.

I am also an anarcha-feminist, a deep ecologist, a social ecologist, an anti-imperialst, anti-globalist, and a humanist. I love labels.

I will begin vet school in February, to become a wildlife veterinarian.
