The concise rational bible - PsychSATANi's version

I m sick and tired of those otherwise intelligent, "educated" and a bit rational theists who try to distort their already superficial understanding of science and reason to suit to their hard held religious believes so that their is less confusion in their lives. And worse so, they shout this distortion out and spread their dangerous idea and this dangerous habit. So I decided to do something to give them the taste of their own medicine (not that this is gonna work!). Since atheists do allow an…See More

COWARDICE NEEDN'T PRECLUDE ATHEISM

Fear of hell being the cause of persistent faith is not a new concept, but what most people, especially theists don’t understand that just like the admittance of any other kind of fear, admitting fear of hell and/ or the wrath of god is an essential element in the faith of anyone who had ever developed any doubt about his faith. I hold the view that since doubt is the one of the most basic element of human thinking, there never existed a believer, no matter how unshakable he may sound, to have…See More

MULTI-DRUG RESISTANT RELIGION

In this blog, I have tried comparing religion to a communicable disease, focussing on how a particular sect of religion can be seen as an multi-drug resistant strain of a harmful microbe. To eradicate any communicable disease from a nation, let us say, there is first a nation-wide attack of measures. This is usually followed by surveys telling you the info on the more difficult zones in the nation that deserve special attention. Towards hitting the target of eradication, mopping up activities,…See More

Profile Information

About Me
Its difficult to summarize myself, and hence I bothered to right this down……..this may seem exhaustive to most and it goes without saying that most people who visit this profile wont read the whole of this. So let me sum up the most of me in three words -- philosophy, physics, psychiatry…….these 3Ps have been my passion since childhood and though I m badly outta touch with physics…...i m surely living it someday.

SHARFAROZ and COMPLICATION - well I m the most complicated guy u will ever find. Why?
1) I don’t like simple things and simple people - simple sucks. And by simple people I mean those people whose actions are easy to understand and predict. The corollary is obvious………..i cant help but finding girls as interesting people ……….most of them don’t know why they do a thing……..and take all the pains in the world so that even we men are clueless.
2) I m myself too complicated. If u love challenges and wanna prove this wrong, I warn u that its not gonna be any pleasant experience, even without my intervention.
3) Above all I try to break the complicated things into simple (unlike other people who just choose to observe the complicated things simply). When things get simplified, I m no longer interested and go for other complicated things……..fortunately there is no minutest chance of recession in this area of work, even if I m left alone in the world, I will be left with my own complications, of the present and past.
But a couple of things stand out as minor exceptions……….
I actually love to make people understand complicated things in a simple way, though I don’t like when the same thing happens to me, I take the longer, more curved and the tougher route.
I don’t complicate others' life any more than an average guy would.
SHARFAROZ AND LOVE
Well love is the favourite emotion for most people because it makes them feel awesome. But for me, its due to academic reasons. I cant possibly summarize here all that I have worked out about love. I can love people despite everything, even if they are simple and uncomplicated.

SHARFAROZ AND RATIONALITY - well I love rationality and if u observe carefully u will realise that I do only two kinds of ARGUMENTS - those containing a lot of reasoning and the ones that have none - the crappy talk. I hate any tendency to be partly reasonable, and when I m being totally unreasonable, I m cooling myself, often in a way to play with some friend, having the advantage of the delusion that I might be talking something that makes some deep sense that they are only scared or irritated to think of.
So examples of irrational talk from others that pisses me of?
"I did it / said it just like that" "its nothing"
And examples of ideologies that I strongly oppose….astrology, homeopathy, vegetarianism.

SHARFAROZ and SCHEDULE
I m the last person u will know on this earth to give into a schedule made by someone. I don’t even have my own schedule. The word "routine" herniates my brain out so much that I never eat, or sleep or wake up or attend a place at the same time on any two given days. This I m speaking with a wide margin, so much that I don’t mind being very early to a thing or place to avoid the thought of routine. This claim surprises some of my friends. Well all those who think that the only thing I do with my laptop in my room is to read, some common sense would help in that I obviously don’t read the same thing everyday. Most of the things that I read are adventurous to me in a sort of way.

SHARFAROZ and FOOD
I m a foodie but don’t get to eat a lot of variety. Hyderabadi biriyani is my favourite, and it probably constitutes one of my most stable and permanent tastes.

ME AND MY LOVE COFFEE
I have actually written a poem about coffee. If I wasn’t so much in love with coffee, I would have sold that poem to one of the top brands for a huge sum. But then if I didn’t love coffee, I wouldn’t have written the poem in the first place! I don’t drink tea, except when my mom brings it to me without asking. Its not that tea doesn’t taste good, but that I don’t want a lot of acid in the stomach and wanna spare my stomach till my mind rings the bell for a coffee.

SHARFAROZ AND MOVIES
"I don’t go out for movies when they release, I go for one when I need a release!" - -sharfaroz
Order of my taste
Psychologically / psychiatrically oriented movies > ACTION > COMEDY > ROMANTIC .
I cant watch animated movies, simply because I can take all sorts of fantasy so long as humans look like humans, or atleast closely so. I have watched a couple of them and can appreciate the work and all but can never like.

POETRY, WRITING
I have inherited a bit of writing and poetry talent that runs in my fathers side of the family, my father was a rather popular gujrati writer and poet….i write mostly in english, except that most of my emotional side comes out in HURDU.

SHARFAROZ'S SLEEP CYCLE, OR THE LACK OF IT
I don’t have one, I ceased to have a stable one years back and I m loving it. I sometimes get a headache with the high level of irregularity, but it’s a good bargain for the sick feeling that I get when I appear to be entering into a routine. But despite all this, I have nearly always had sound sleep, and almost no difficulty in falling asleep precisely because I work at some thing or the other till my eyes begin to close. But I m still clueless as to how my poor RAS works at such an irregularity. The most difficult thing for me to accept in a day is that its over and I gotta retire and the second most difficult thing is reasoning my half asleep mind into waking up when its time. I m yet to know of another person who is so flexible with his cycle (actually I havent tried to find one)

SHARFAROZ the INTROVERT
Well I was more so, but now giving the demand of work, I m not as much anymore. But the 4 walls never creep the hell out of me, and I often take pleasure in being alone at my work for several hours together, so much so that this is precisely the reason why I came to become so casually nocturnal.

SHARFAROZ and ORDER
I am very lazy when it comes to keeping my room in order, just like most guys. The only part of my room that will ever be in order is my study area, although I don’t make unnecessary attempts at its perfection.

IGNORANCE at its best
If u know me enough, u will surprise at my ignorance about common topics. I m just too lazy to learn and know things that are of no immediate concern to me. For instance I can easily be the last educated guy in town to know if the CM/ PM has changed. I use ignorance as a tool to keep myself focused and my memory less burdened with all sorts of crap.

SHARFAROZ the ABSENTMINDED BOOKWORM
In schooldays I used to read anything we call science. But over the years, as happens with most bookworms, I have gone very selective in what I read. My favorite books have always been the minds of people, the more complicated the person I m examining, the more satiable experience it is. And no matter who u are, I will shamelessly read into you, in as far as u and my rather flexible code of ethics allows.

SHARFAROZ AND ETHICS
I build only a few walls in my conscious and subconscious and often tend to break the existing ones. This one of the things I love the most about myself, that I don’t trap my perceptive, imaginative and working abilities around unnecessary walls raised into the mind by an age old ethics of someone.
I question my ethics from time to time and irrespective of what anyone may perceive the changes to be indicative of, I change them. I have a quite flexible code of ethics, but one that needs a lot of pondering before it can be flexed.

SHARFAROZ and LIES
Well I lie. Everybody does. Anyone who actually manages to never lie to others, still cant manage the most elemental form of lying that we all engage in, lying to oneself. The unnecessary paralyzing alignment to the star of truth, that some rare people take both pleasure and pain to maintain is only an ego defence mechanism or ego strengthening mechanism, as I choose to call it.
I certainly have lied in a way and to an extent that might have hurt someone but never a big fat lie, never a lie that someone might have had a hard time to let go.
Truth can take innocent lives as easily as a lie can, hence I hold that the concepts of right and wrong are a strata above in value when compared to the concepts of truth and falsity.

SHARFAROZ AND DOUBT
Contrary to what a lot of people mistake me to be, I m in a lot of doubt, and I express it too, but it must be obvious that I m not by any means perfect in its expression. I hate certainty…….for it’s a sign of weakness, it’s a sign that u have give up. I allow as much doubt that reason necessitates, even into my patterns of thinking and behavior.

SHARFAROZ AND TRAVEL
U might have guessed that I travel less, or very less. I m too lazy to go out on tours. I don’t plan them, hardly ever fantasize on going on one. But when I do go out, I love every bit of it, like most normal people.

SHARFAROZ AND WOMEN
I call myself a paradoxical feminist, well I m not sure if anyone ever used this term before me. But I guess it perfectly suits my position.
I have learnt that atleast some women are afraid of me. Of them, the ones who don’t know me are obviously judging me by my facial expression and body language. Perhaps this activates the feminine instinct, which being a primitive one is incompatible with a modernised mind like that of mine. And some of them who know me are simply afraid that I might soon end up understanding them.

i m an atheist, i often see the religious as my would be patients and i dream and working to play my part in relieving the world of this age old mass delusion called god.
