I'm an ex mormon. I was raised in a VERY mormon family in a VERY mormon state. I started questioning the LDS religion when I was 13. I was told that I had to go to church every sunday or I would get kicked out of my house. At 18 I couldn't handle it anymore, so I kicked myself out of my parent's house and struggled with my lack of faith. OK. I am venting. My mother died two weeks ago. She was a “god fearing christian.” Before her death she refused all medical treatment. She wanted to be left alone. She even refused to speak with my brother who is a methodist minister. He is a pip, let me tell you! This probably should not have shocked me as much as it did (especially since I am in Texas). I actually thought my coworkers were playing a joke on me because they know I am an atheist. Sadly, this was no joke. This actually happened.

Are Mormons that much into the Zionism movement? I would have thought they didn't really care as much about Israel, since Jesus came to them in America, as well, in their mythology. What causes them to give a damn about the Jews?
