- About Me
- I'm an aspiring paleontologist -- fell in love with dinosaurs when I was a kid, but now I'm nuts about Ediacaran biota.
I just moved back to Canada for grad school at Queen's University after seven years trapped in the American Deep South. Not a happy place for an atheist. If anything, it helped firm up my conviction that religious people are nuts!
I've been an atheist since the first time I confronted my parents about the implausibility of Santa Claus when I was six.

I have also been atheist since about age 6 - old enough to think critically. Glad to hear you made it back to Canada. I have tried a few times, but I pretty much stuck in Kansas. Fully tenured now, so its hard to give up the job security. Best of luck with your grad program.

I'm also the media and communications consultant for the forthcoming "Rise of Atheism" Global Atheist Convention to be held in Melbourne in March 2010. The Convention is being organized jointly by Atheist Alliance International and the Atheist Foundation of Australia.
I wonder if you could let your members know that tickets for the convention are now available online at the Convention website. We are expecting nearly 3,000 delegates, so this convention is going to be huge.
Confirmed speakers include: Richard Dawkins, AC Grayling, PZ Myers, Dan Barker, Peter Singer, Taslima Nasrin and many more.
Anything you can do to help us get the word out would be greatly appreciated.
