It seems there are so few voices of moderation, so it's a relief to find another person who can understand points of view that are not necessarily their own. I often my myself defending theists here (not their beliefs, but their right to have them), and I sometimes find that a depressing state of affairs. I used to think atheists would be more likely to have an open mind, having experienced oppression from theists all their lives, but so many of them really swing entirely the other way, such that I no longer see a difference between them and the theists they abhore.
