Cons of Theism

I have to admit, since I have returned to atheism the benefits have been seemingly lacking. My first spill into atheism gave my anxiety about Hell a big break. As a child I constantly worried if I was "really saved" or if I somehow lost my salvation. When I was "borned again" at the age of 16 I did not completely resume my fear of Hell because I believed that as long as I felt a personal connection to God that I was still safe to assume I was saved. Now I am an atheist again, and I often wonder…See More

I figured that I would formally introduce myself. SGA Atheist stands for "South Georgia Atheist." For those people who may not be that familiar with the State of Georgia in the United States, it is an extremely conservative state. South Georgia specifically is extremely rural and part of the "Deep South." I am not ashamed of my heritage or my peers here, but obviously being a left-leaning atheist puts me at odds with a lot of people around here. Aside from a group of fellow atheists and…See More
