The Benefits Of Pet Ownership For Children

My family consists of a supportive husband, my two boys, two dogs, a cat, and an aquarium of assorted tropical fish, that too-often need replacing... All of us are animal lovers, feed the birds, the ducks, geese, squirrels and we never kill bugs in our home, just catch them and remove them to the outdoors. (we do swat mosquitoes though) I can't imagine our family without having our pets included, they absolutely enrich our lives. It breaks my heart to know that there are so many dogs and cats…See More

Meal Planning For Part-Time Vegetarians: Great Cookbooks for Vegetarians

Written by Vanessa BrownPublished on July 1st, 2009For almost two years we’ve been eating vegetarian or vegan twice a week and seafood twice a week. I guess you could consider us part-time vegetarians. Eating this way keeps us from overloading our diets with too much meat or dairy and cuts down on our grocery bill. It forces us to eat more fresh produce and to shop locally so the produce actually has flavor. It is extremely eco-friendly to eat vegetarian twice a week; eating meat takes a toll on…See More

Greetings, Rose! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus lately. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.

Hi Rose,
One of my friends got it in her head that she wanted to vacation in NC during the month of August. She concocted a plan and now I am committed to a vacation to NC from Aug 20-30. Please tell me the weather has cooled down. We will be spending most of the time on the coast.

BTW Most of the southern gals I knew were not atheists. Good for you.
