I founded a rather notorious club known as The Atheist Agenda and am a member of the Secular Student Alliance and the Center for Inquiry. One of these days I'd like to start a Secular Humanist social fraternity at a university somewhere.
I used to be a laser physicist, then transitioned into molecular biophysics. Events have conspired to burn me out on biophysics, and I am now looking towards energy research. (I think our current energy problems will be primarily met by nuclear power and carbon sequestration in coal power plants.)
My primary hobbies are kayaking, toobing (sic), walking/hiking, reading, linguistics, shoes, and politics. Oh, and Texas Hold 'Em.

Have you read the Palahniuck's book called "Survivor"? I don't know if the original name is "survivor", i read a translate to the portuguese.
The title in portuguese is "Sobrevivente".
In my opinion, this book can be better than the book "Fight Club"... but Fight Club is very good too.. :)
